Board Meeting – May 4, 2010

Country Walk Homeowners’ Association Meeting on May 4, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm in the Clubhouse by President Mickey Lauria.  All 5 current Board members were present namely Jennie Cahill, Mickey Lauria,  Murali Sitaraman, Nanda Srimani,  and Scott Templeton.

 

The board members present welcomed newly elected board members Jennie Cahill and Nanda Srimani. As per the subdivions bylaws, Murali Sitaraman assumed the position of First Vice President, and Scott Templeton remained in the capacity of Treasurer. The current board members then proposed that Jennie Cahill serve as 2nd Vice President and Nanda Srimani as Secretary and they accepted.

 

Warren Adams, formerly the Board Secretary, handed over previous meetings’ minutes; the Board thanked him for his years of service.

 

Treasurer Scott Templeton reviewed the current budget, explaining each line item. It was noted that 153 homeowners have paid their annual dues, out of a total of 158. Scott Templeton will send reminders to those with outstanding balances.

 

First Vice President Murali Sitaraman reported the following announcements and developments:

 

  • The Clubhouse upper deck was in disrepair and was replaced using weather-proof Geodeck material, same as the lower deck.
  • David Crum agreed to install a number of open drains at various locations on the neighborhood nature trail as part of the warranty in his trail contract.
  • Mr. Crum has been asked to build a trail bridge on the newly developed trail, as well as repair the trail damage created during the removal of dead trees.
  • The resurfacing of the neighborhood tennis courts is complete, and the surrounding fence will be repaired soon.

 

President Mickey Lauria reported the following:

 

  • Subdivision-wide mulching was completed in early May.
  • A resident  agreed to reposition her fence, which was previously encroaching on neighborhood property.
  • The Tree Survey and removal of 39 trees was conducted by Mike’s Tree Services. However, the trail repair work and the clean-up was unsatisfactory. Thus, it was agreed that the board would seek out an alternative tree service for future work.

 

The board agreed to replace the sod along the subdivision entrance.

 

Last year’s successful movie night, hosted by the Clemson University Police Department was a big success; the date for this year’s event was set for 8:30 pm, May 14.

 

 

The board agreed to have the President ask the following individuals to serve as committee chairs for the year.

 

  • Clubhouse Committee – Cindy Osef
  • Grounds and Maintenance – Mitchell Dobrenen
  • Pool Committee – Warren Adams
  • Social Committee – Randy Davidson
  • Architectural Control Committee – Phil Schmidt
  • Website Committee – Tim Burg
  • Rules and Regulations Committee – Rocco Cioffoletti

 

President, Mickey Lauria, was instructed to ask a nearby resident to take care of the playground garbage can responsibility during winter months.  Lauria will also discuss with David Crum a more permanent clean up strategy for the area adjacent to the Ivankovic residence.

 

The Country Walk Swim Team will start their activities in the summer.

The sign at the subdivision entrance will be fixed.

 

The date for the next HOA meeting was set for 7:30PM, Tuesday June 8th.

 

With no further items of businesses slated for discussion, President Mickey Lauria adjourned the meeting at 8:45PM.
