Board Meeting – June 8, 2010

Country Walk Homeowners’ Association Meeting on June 8, 2010
President Mickey Lauria called the meeting to order at 7:40 pm in the Country Walk Clubhouse.  Three Board members were present, namely Mickey Lauria, Nanda Srimani and Scott Templeton. It was agreed that the secretary would henceforth send a meeting reminder via email to all members one week in advance of the scheduled date.
Treasurer Scott Templeton presented the budget reports, consisting of Account Balances and the Year-to-Date Income and Expenditures for the year 2010. It was noted that 153 homeowners have paid their annual dues, out of a total of 158. One homeowner paid the dues late, but has yet to pay the applicable late penalties. Liens will be put on the five late properties by the end of June.
President Mickey Lauria reported the following announcements and developments:
  • David Crum (Southern Roots Landscaping) will start working on the agreed upon installation of a number of open drains at various locations on the neighborhood nature trail, as part of the warranty in his trail contract.
  • Mr. Crum has been asked to build a bridge on the newly developed trail, as well as repair the trail damage incurred as a result of removal of dead trees.
  • McCalls will be asked to replace the sod along the subdivision entrance.
This year’s movie night, hosted by the Clemson University Police Department on May 14, was a big success again. Approximately 100 residents enjoyed the showing of “Mall Cop” with free popcorn and soft drinks.
Mickey asked the following individuals to serve as committee chairs for the year. All were in agreement.
  • Clubhouse Committee – Cindy Osef
  • Grounds and Maintenance – Mitchell Dobrenen
  • Pool Committee – Warren Adams
  • Social Committee – Randy Davidson
  • Website Committee – Tim Burg
Garbage Can in Playground Responsibility – Mickey will ask a neighbor to see if he can take care of this during the season in which the pool is closed.
The following two committee chairs are yet to be determined
  • Rules and Regulations Committee – Rocco Cioffoletti was unable this year; other residents will be asked.
  • Architectural Control Committee – due to the significant time allotment inherent to this position, it might be better to ask more than one person to chair the committee.
New Business presented by Mickey Lauria:
  • Country Walk Entrance – Some residents have suggested redoing the sign at the entrance, as well as repairing the gazebo and landscaping along Berkeley Drive. The HOA will seek different ideas and/or ask Jay Jones to get some bids.
  • Wood Fence at 105 Dogwood Terrace was approved by ACC.
  • 604 Red Maple Way is getting ready to start building soon, ACC is reviewing the building proposal.
  • Next Walk to School Days will be in October.
  • Warren is working on fixing certain issues with the electrical wiring at the neighborhood pool.
  • Extension of 103 Country Walk lot was not approved.
  • A plan for a new Fence at 112 Knollwood Dr. was sent to the ACC.
Mickey Lauria will also discuss with David Crum a more permanent clean up strategy for the area adjacent to the Ivankovic residence.
The Country Walk Swim Team to hold organizational meeting on June 12 and start team practice on June 14.
The date for the next HOA meeting was set for 7:30PM, Monday July 5.
With no further items of businesses slated for discussion, President Mickey Lauria adjourned the meeting at 8:30 PM.
